After being given the worst odds of the eight baseball teams in Omaha, the Michigan Wolverines are one win away from winning the 2019 College World Series.
And oddsmakers still don’t believe in Big Blue.
Michigan defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores by a score of 7-4 in Game 1 of the 2019 CWS Final, pulling off the upset over the tournament favorite and positioning themselves to win the best-of-three series.
However, heading into Game 2, Vanderbilt is listed at -210 ($210 to win $100) odds on the money line and is still the heavy favorite to beat Michigan, who is listed at +180 ($100 to win $180) odds, according to BetOnline.
Oddsmakers have also set the over/under at 9 total runs scored by both teams for tonight’s game.
Vanderbilt entered the tournament as the co-favorites at +300 (25%) odds alongside the Arkansas Razorbacks but are now on the brink of elimination after a set back in the first game of the final.
Michigan, on the other hand, was given longshot odds by online sportsbooks and had +1400 (6.67%) odds of winning the title — the least likely of the eight NCAA baseball teams that qualified for Omaha.
Vanderbilt must win tonight in order to force a Game 3 against Michigan.
The first pitch of Game 2 between Michigan and Vanderbilt is set to be thrown out tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET from TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska.
ESPN will broadcast and stream the game on various platforms.
Game 3 of the 2019 CWS will start on Wednesday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m. ET if necessary.
